A former WWE star opened up about his massive 18,000-calorie daily diet, featuring huge McDonald’s orders as part of his regimen.

Former WWE star Paul Wight, known as the Big Show, recently shared details about his astonishing diet when he was at the peak of his wrestling career.

His calorie intake was massive, reaching up to 18,000 calories a day.

This amount is far beyond what most people consume in a week, highlighting the unique needs of professional athletes.

Big Show had an enormous appetite.

For the average adult, the recommended daily calorie intake is around 2,000 calories.

However, athletes, especially those in high-impact sports like wrestling, need significantly more energy.

Big Show, who stands over two meters tall, needed to fuel his large body to perform in the ring.

He explained that his diet included a lot of food, often consisting of fast food from places like McDonald’s and Taco Bell.

He said: “My calorie intake back in the day, which was a lot of empty, bad calories, because I used to just eat whatever I wanted in massive amounts.

His typical meal could include three to four Big Macs, a large serving of fries, and a few fish sandwiches.

After finishing at McDonald’s, he sometimes went to Taco Bell for even more food, sometimes ordering up to 20 tacos.

“I’d probably say it was somewhere between 13 to 18,000 calories a day.

You get Big Macs you know, I get three or four Big Macs and then I get fries, I get a shake, I get apple pies, and probably fish sandwich or two.

“Then you’d go to Taco Bell and get like 20 tacos.”

While satisfying at the time, this type of diet was not the healthiest.

Big Show acknowledged that most of these calories came from “empty” foods that did not provide much nutrition.

He emphasized that he ate whatever he wanted, and the portions were significantly larger than most people consider normal.

Former WWE star Paul Wight reflects on his extreme eating habits

As Big Show got older, he realized that he could not maintain such a high-calorie diet.

He shared that now, he eats much smaller portions, describing his current diet as more balanced.

He noted that he now consumes about 10 ounces of protein along with vegetables to stay healthy.

“You can do that when you’re younger, when you’re still going to be big, but as you get older you realise ‘Well, I can’t really eat like that anymore,'” the former WWE star explained.

Big Show reflected on his past eating habits, saying he could indulge in massive amounts of food when he was younger.

He remembered how enjoyable certain foods were, including a beef pie with gravy, which he called “the most delicious concoction.”

It was clear that while he enjoyed his past diet, he understood the need for change as he aged.

The importance of nutrition

Big Show’s experience indicates the importance of nutrition, especially for athletes.

While high-calorie diets can support intense training and performance, they can also lead to health issues if not managed properly.

Many athletes must find a balance between fueling their bodies and maintaining their health.
