The AI clip makes bold claims
The AI-generated voice goes further, stating, “He has the audacity to act like he is an elected official. I am an elected official. I am the important one in this situation, not him.”

While a third commented: They are so desperate to sow discord. Calling Elon the real president not working? Let’s try this.
Another added: Its obviously fake. Not even the same cadence with which he speaks.
Someone said: That sounds like a pretty strong take. Are you talking about Elon Musk and Tesla? Or something broader about the economy?
Another user added: ngl if this is AI, it’s the most realistic AI deepfake of a voice I’ve ever heard.
The audio doesn’t even sound like Vance. It’s absolutely fake. Someone else said.
JD Vance denies the authenticity of the clip
The viral post was originally shared by X user Bishop Talbert Swan.
In response, JD Vance quickly dismissed the clip as fake.
Vance wrote, “It’s a fake AI-generated clip. I’m not surprised this guy doesn’t have the intelligence to recognize this fact, but I wonder if he has the integrity to delete it now that he knows it’s false.”
He then hinted at potential legal action, adding, “If not, it could be defamation. I guess we’ll find out!”
BBC and X verify the clip as AI-generated
Reports from the BBC, alongside other sources and the X platform itself, have confirmed that the clip was created using AI.
The audio quality is grainy and distorted, giving the impression that it was secretly recorded.
However, there is no clear source or explanation of how someone supposedly accessed a private conversation featuring the vice president.
Additionally, William Martin, JD Vance’s communications director, also took to X to reinforce the claim that the clip is fake.
He wrote, “This audio is 100% fake and most certainly not the Vice President.”
Inshort, As AI-generated content spreads rapidly online, concerns over misinformation and the potential for political manipulation continue to grow.
