The jeans Kendrick Lamar wore at the Super Bowl were originally made for Timothée Chalamet and are a women’s size 29.
Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl jeans were meant for Timothée Chalamet
Kendrick Lamar and Timothée Chalamet have more in common than expected. They even share a stylist, Taylor McNeil.
During the Super Bowl 2025 halftime show, Lamar wore $1,300 Celine jeans. Originally, these jeans were set aside for Chalamet.
A source told “Page Six” that McNeil had chosen various denim options for Lamar’s Grammy and Super Bowl looks. The size 29 women’s Celine pants ended up fitting Lamar perfectly despite his usual size 33 waist.
Fans react to Lamar’s unique fashion choice
The fashion moment sparked debate among fans. Many wondered if the jeans were bootcut or bell-bottoms. Celine’s official website describes them as “flared surf jeans in summer dazed wash.”
Chalamet is 5-foot-10, while Lamar is 5-foot-5. This height difference may explain the jeans’ extra length on Lamar. One person said: “but the size 29 Celine women’s pants hugged the rapper’s hips perfectly, despite his size 33 waist.”
A second wrote: Ok so I wasn’t the only weirdo who keep looking at those jeans. I was like are men really wearing flare leg now TF ??
While a third commented: Ok, that’s funny. I thought that those pants were a huge miss, I said “I do not like that fit on him, I do not like those pants….”Funny. Now I know why. Not his fault.
Another added: Tim couldn’t have done with Ken did to them jeans, don’t embarrass that man like that. Lmao.
Someone else said: The bell bottoms were a dead giveaway
Kendrick Lamar’s full Super Bowl look
Lamar styled the jeans with a custom blue leather Martine Rose varsity jacket. The jacket featured archival sports paneling and intricate embroidery.
To complete his look, Lamar wore a $68,000 Rahaminov diamond brooch pinned to his cap. Kendrick Lamar became the first solo rapper to headline the Super Bowl halftime show.
In an exclusive *Apple Music* interview, he said, “My intent was to always keep … the nature of it as a sport.”
The Super Bowl broke viewership records, and Lamar’s performance played a major role in drawing more fans.
Surprise guests and bold song choices
Lamar brought out SZA for their songs “All the Stars” and “Luther.”
However, the biggest surprise came when tennis legend Serena Williams joined him onstage. She crip-walked to Lamar’s viral Drake diss track “Not Like Us,” which had recently won five Grammys.
Lamar also performed lesser-known songs like “Man at the Garden” and “Peekaboo” from his *GNX* album. Samuel L. Jackson narrated parts of the performance as Uncle Sam.
Lamar reflects on his growth
In his interview with *Apple Music*, Lamar reflected on his journey.
“How I process it all is just… I continue to do what I was doing 10 years ago,” he said. “Get better in myself, better in the craft, and not look at the bright lights… I gotta look at myself in the mirror rather than looking at the crowd or, you know, fame and attention.”
