Alonso’s performance at the Games was disappointing; she finished sixth in the 100m butterfly, just 0.24 seconds behind Georgia’s Ana Nizharadze, narrowly missing the semi-finals.
Despite her retirement announcement, she has remained in Paris.

Following these incidents, Paraguayan Olympic Committee officials decided to prohibit Alonso from mingling with other team members. The decision was communicated by Larissa Schaerer, the Paraguayan Olympic chief. She stated, “Her presence is creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay.”
