The location is less than nine miles from Edinburgh Airport.

Morton expressed surprise, stating, “I have never heard of any aircraft crashing leaving Edinburgh or that area.”

He believes that the image might be an optical illusion caused by satellite imagery. “It’s probably the satellite looking down through thin cloud,” he explained.

One person said: That is an image from google maps ….. go to google earth and the plane is above water with its shadow underneath.

A second wrote: Obviously fake, water is more than few metres deep 7 miles out and that plane is very 2 dimentional as well as fully intact.

While a third commented: It just proves the earth is flat.

Another added: its fake because it wouldn’t be intact if it crashed into the ocean

Someone else said: its fake because it wouldn’t be intact if it crashed into the ocean.

Previously, plane sightings on Google Earth left viewers stunned.

Morton’s find follows another notable discovery.

Previously, A pilot claimed to have found parts of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 in a Cambodian jungle using Google Earth. Daniel Boyer reported locating the engine, tail, and cockpit buried in the jungle north of Phnom Penh.

Additionally, a tech expert named Ian Wilson claimed to have spotted the doomed MH370 on Google Maps.

He suggested that the Malaysian Airlines plane lies strewn across a jungle area in Cambodia. These recent discoveries demonstrate the power of satellite technology in uncovering hidden objects.

Is it a glitch?

Despite the excitement, Morton acknowledged the possibility of a “Google anomaly.” He noted, “I thought it was unusual as I’ve not seen an aircraft in flight captured by Google Earth before.” The remarkable image could simply be a visual glitch rather than a submerged plane.

The image of a plane appearing underwater off the Scottish coast captivates the imagination.

While Robert Morton’s discovery is intriguing, it may just be an illusion created by satellite imagery. As technology advances, more surprising finds are likely to emerge, leaving us to wonder what else lies hidden in our world.
