“Basically said his brother is a good guy just can be a head case at times and yesterday he had billing issues with customers and was frustrated, so that could be a reason why he took it out on me unfortunately.

Rob’s followers were outraged by the incident, which sparked debate on social media.

One person said: Just say, “oh don’t worry, I’m not powerlifting. This is lightweight for me.”

A second wrote: I hope I get strong enough to one day be kicked out of the gym for being too strong.

While a third commented: Excuse me sir we don’t allow people to eat in our restaurant

Another added: Been there, done that. They came up to me at a commercial gym for deadlifting 405 x 5, and I was not slamming the weight, but they were afraid I’d damage their floor. I called them out on their slogan: “Come get stronger with us”, and asked if that only means up to 225, limiting how strong their members can get.

This is not the first time a man has been kicked out of the gym.

Toby Addison, a visually impaired footballer and content creator, faced a similarly perplexing situation.

Toby, who lost 80% of his vision at age 11, was accused of staring at a woman in the gym. Despite explaining his blindness and showing his cane, the woman insisted that he be removed from the gym.

However, Addison quickly apologized to the woman and clarified his visual impairment by pointing to his cane. “Oh no sorry, I’m blind’. I had my cane with me, it was folded up in my lap but she wasn’t having any of it.”

After the incident, Addison remained kicked out of the gym. He left feeling misunderstood and embarrassed.

Over time, Toby has learned to assert himself more confidently in similar situations.
