Bush’s brother, Jeremy, who was in the house at the time, has shared the last thing he heard before the sinkhole claimed Jeffrey’s life.

In March 2013, Jeremy heard Jeffrey calling out from his bedroom in their Seffner home.

When Jeremy rushed in to help, he was confronted with a scene that has haunted him ever since.

According to his claim, the sinkhole unexpectedly opened up with little warning and then created an immediate crisis.

Jeremy Bush was asleep when the floor beneath his brother gave way, pulling him into a void beneath the house.

The sudden collapse was accompanied by a loud noise, which Jeremy described as a “thunderous roar” before the room was engulfed by darkness.

Believing that Jeffrey had fallen into the sinkhole, Jeremy tried desperately to reach him.

He even climbed into the hole, hoping to find his brother. Despite his efforts, Jeremy couldn’t locate Jeffrey.

Jeremy jumped into the sinkhole and got stuck in mud up to his neck. A police officer from Tampa rescued him.

He just only heard a desperate cry for help.

According to Jeremy, the last words he heard from Jeffrey were a desperate cry for help.

Jeremy recalls that Jeffrey’s final shout was filled with fear and confusion, reflecting the chaotic moments before the sinkhole’s complete engulfment.

He said that this vivid memory has left Jeremy grappling with grief and trauma for years.

“He was screaming my name. I could swear I heard him hollering my name to help him. I wanted to save my brother.
