An American TikToker, known for posting Tesla content, has gained attention online for deliberately ignoring the manufacturer's warnings.

He took his Cybertruck through an automatic car wash, despite Tesla's explicit warning against doing so.

The TikToker, Jeremy, recently had his car cleaned and shared the experience on his channel.

He humorously advised his viewers, "Do not ever do this with your Tesla Cybertruck. Do not take it through an automatic car wash."

However, he admitted to doing it himself, stating, "But, do as I say, not as I do, because of course I did it myself."

In the footage, Jeremy reveals the results after going through the automatic car wash, despite Tesla's warning

The video, which revealed Jeremy sitting in the backseat while someone else drove, has garnered over 370k views.

Jeremy argued that since a Cybertruck doesn't have paint, there's nothing to damage.

He accepted the possibility of scratches but didn't believe significant damage could occur from the car wash brushes.

After the car wash, Jeremy shared the results with his viewers.

He warned that the vehicle's tonneau cover wasn't waterproof, as some water had leaked into the back. He advised against storing expensive items in that section if there was a chance of getting wet.

Despite the risks, Jeremy was pleased with the outcome, stating, "There are some spots that need to be detailed, but overall it looks really good. Kind of what you’d expect from a car wash-type scenario."

The video quickly went viral on social media and spared debate.

In the comments section, some viewers expressed skepticism and warned about the risks of taking a Cybertruck through an automatic car wash, despite Tesla's warning.

One person said: wait... thought it was bullet proof? but not carwash proof?

A second wrote: did you put it in "car wash" mode because apparently that's a thing

While a third commented: alot of broncos are malfunctioning in car washes and when taken off road in water environments.

Another added: Just a little bit of stuck dirt in those brushes will scratch any car up. I don't know about the cybertruck but I do know the regular Teslas (S,X and 3) have taillights that will crack from the soap.

In a previous incident, a Tesla Cybertruck owner was stunned after his car was damaged during washing.

On social media, Tiktoker,  known as @captain.ad, shared a video on TikTok revealing that his nearly new vehicle broke down after a car wash.

The owner had only driven the $80,000 truck for about 3,400 miles before the incident, which left viewers stunned and sparked discussions about a 'known issue' with the Cybertruck.

After the incident, the Cybertruck owner contacted Tesla.

The company acknowledged the issue, explaining, "It is a known issue in the Cybertruck that when you do a screen reset, instead of resetting in the standard two minutes, it takes five hours. Hopefully, it gets addressed in a future software patch.”

Tesla specifically warns Cybertruck owners not to wash their cars to avoid damage

Tesla officially recommends using a touchless car wash, if any, as they do not contain brushes or anything else that could potentially damage the exterior.

The company warns that failure to put the Cybertruck in Car Wash Mode may result in damage to the charge port or windshield wipers, which is not covered by the warranty.
