The temporary rebranding will be implemented in over 30 global markets and will last from February 26 to March 18.
Along with the name change, WcDonald's restaurants will feature anime-inspired packaging designed by Acky Bright. Additionally, a special Savory Chili WcDonald's Sauce will be introduced, adding a unique twist to the menu.
To further attract anime enthusiasts, McDonald's has collaborated with animation house Studio Pierrot to produce four official WcDonald's anime shorts.
The first short, titled "The Race to WcDonald's," is already available, while the remaining three will be released on specific dates in March.
These shorts can be accessed through the WcDonalds.com website or by scanning a code on the WcDonald's packaging.
Remarkably, McDonald's will be offering the WcDonald's Immersive Dining Experience in Los Angeles from March 9 to 10.
Guests will be transported into the WcDonald's universe through 360 projection mapping and immersive tabletop projections, accompanied by a set menu featuring WcDonald's items.
Referring to this interesting transformation, Tariq Hassan, Director of Marketing and Customer Experience for McDonald's USA, emphasized the important position of anime in today's culture.
He also said this is the first time WcDonald's has brought into their fast food chain.
