On social media, many viewers were stunned as Musk revealed on X eye-watering payments to Ashley St. Clair amid custody dispute.
Elon Musk addresses child support and paternity claims with Ashley St. Clair
Elon Musk recently revealed that he has provided Ashley St. Clair, an influencer, with $2.5 million in payments. Despite this, Musk claims he is unsure if he is the father of St. Clair’s child.
Musk responded to these claims on X, the platform he owns.
He stated, “I don’t know if the child is mine or not, but I am not against finding out.” He clarified that despite the uncertainty, he has already given $2.5 million and plans to send $500,000 annually.
St. Clair’s response to Musk’s statements
St. Clair hit back at Musk, calling him a “petulant man-child.” She claimed he refused to confirm paternity before the child’s birth. St. Clair also explained that the support he provides should be for their son, not as a way to control her.
She criticized Musk’s efforts in court to silence her while he used his platform to make derogatory statements.
On the X platform, Ashley St. Clair also responded to Musk about support for their child:
She wrote: “And you weren’t sending me money, you were sending support for your child that you thought was necessary… until you withdrew most of it to maintain control and punish me for “disobedience.” But you’re really only punishing your son.”
“It’s ironic that your last effort in court was to try to gag me while you use a social media channel you literally own to distribute derogatory messages about me and our child to the entire world. It’s all about control with you, and everyone can see it.” She added.
In a conversation with DailyMail.com, St. Clair shared that she sold her $100,000 Tesla to make up for a reduction in child support. She claimed Musk cut their son’s support by 60%.
Public disclosure of the child’s paternity
St. Clair went public on Musk’s X platform in September, revealing Musk as the father of her child.
She detailed their relationship, claiming Musk contacted her on social media in May 2023. St. Clair said the child was conceived during a trip to Saint Barthélemy in January 2024.
However, Musk has not publicly acknowledged the child as his, but has responded cryptically to St. Clair’s posts. His representatives did not comment on the situation when contacted by DailyMail.com.
Legal battles and custody disputes
St. Clair filed a paternity and custody lawsuit in February 2024, alleging that Musk abandoned her and their son during child support negotiations. She claims Musk pressured her to keep the pregnancy a secret before ghosting her.
A source close to the case claims Musk reduced St. Clair’s support payments by more than half after she went public with the paternity and custody claims. The source described his actions as “shocking and shameful.”
St. Clair, who has a three-year-old son from a previous relationship, now faces financial difficulties.
She recently sold her Tesla to raise money for her children’s expenses. St. Clair has been living in a rented apartment and raising both children with the help of a full-time nanny.
She has expressed frustration at Musk’s lack of logistical support, especially given the drastic reduction in financial aid.
