On social media, many viewers were stunned after a viral video showed an alien spotted at the International Space Station as stranded NASA astronauts prepared for their return.
NASA Astronauts stranded for nine months finally prepare to return
Sunita “Suni” Williams and Barry “Butch” Wilmore have been stuck in space since June. Now, they are finally coming home.
The astronauts were originally scheduled for a short mission.
However, their return was delayed after their Boeing spacecraft was deemed unsafe. With no immediate solution, they had to remain on the International Space Station (ISS) for nine months.
NASA then considered using SpaceX’s Falcon 9 ship to bring them back.
After months of waiting, the mission was finally confirmed on March 15. The astronauts are expected to return in the coming days.
SpaceX crew arrives at ISS to replace stranded astronauts
Elon Musk’s company, SpaceX, sent four astronauts to the ISS. The Crew-10 team includes Anne McClain, Nichole Ayers, Takuya Onishi, and Kirill Peskov.
According to NASA, the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft successfully docked at the ISS at 12:04 a.m. EDT. At the time, the station was approximately 260 miles above the Atlantic Ocean.
By 1:35 a.m. EDT, the hatches were opened, allowing Crew-10 to board the ISS.
They were greeted by the Expedition 72 team, which includes NASA astronauts Nick Hague, Don Petitt, Suni Williams, and Butch Wilmore.
Additionally, Roscosmos cosmonauts Aleksandr Gorbunov, Alexey Ovchinin, and Ivan Vagner also welcomed them.
Mysterious ‘Alien’ spotted during live NASA broadcast
Before the SpaceX craft docked, something unusual happened.
A figure resembling an ‘alien’ appeared on NASA’s official live feed.
The footage captured a shocking moment showing an ‘alien’ spotted at the International Space Station as stranded NASA astronauts got ready to return to Earth. It was quickly shared on social media.
However, it was not an extraterrestrial visitor.
Instead, it was Crew-9 commander Nick Hague wearing a gray alien mask. As he waited for Crew-10’s arrival, Hague floated around the station in a black hoodie and the mask.
Social media reacts to the space prank
On social media, viewers quickly noticed the humorous moment and shared their reactions online. Many Twitter users found it entertaining.
One person said: Haha, that would be trippy! I would’ve laughed so hard.
A second wrote: Funny and fitting! Space missions need some humor too.
While a third commented: That’s next-level hospitality! But real question—if aliens were watching, would they be amused or offended?
Another user added: No because imagine you see a spaceship then a random voice behind you says “thems is space *slur*s.”
Someone else said: Let’s hope there journey back to earth will be a good one and they heal from that experience who ever is rescuing these individuals well done you.
NASA astronauts reflect on their journey
After Crew-10’s arrival, the ISS crew shared emotional moments. The live stream showed them embracing in zero gravity.
McClain expressed her excitement: “Crew-10 had a great journey up here. Seeing the space station for the first time was beyond words.”
Williams also spoke to Mission Control: “It was a wonderful day. Great to see our friends arrive.”
After months of uncertainty, Williams and Wilmore are finally set to return home. Their extended mission will soon come to an end, marking a long-awaited reunion with Earth.
