Investigation reveals link between Las Vegas and New Orleans attacks

Authorities are now investigating possible connections between the Las Vegas incident and a similar attack in New Orleans earlier that day.

In New Orleans, Shamsud Din Jabbar, 42, drove an electric vehicle into crowds, killing 15 pedestrians and injuring dozens.

Both vehicles involved in the attacks were electric cars rented through the Turo platform, sparking concerns that the two incidents could be linked.

Hours after the explosion in Las Vegas, law enforcement revealed that the Cybertruck used in the attack had been rented in Colorado and driven across state lines.

After the incident, investigators shared chilling photos showing the explosives packed into the truck’s bed.

The image showed explosives packed into the Cybertruck’s trunk, including charred fireworks, gas canisters, and camping fuel found in the bed of the truck.

This chilling image was reported after authorities were finally able to put out the fire.

However, it remains unclear how the explosion was triggered, sources suggest that it may have been intentionally set by the driver.

Authorities are exploring the possibility that the driver chose the Tesla Cybertruck intentionally.

Additionally, they also suspec it may have been to send a message due to Elon Musk’s recent associations with President-elect Donald Trump.

Sheriff Kevin McMahill stated, “It’s possible that the choice of the Cybertruck was meant to make a statement.”

Despite the tragic nature of the event, some law enforcement officers have noted that the Cybertruck’s design may have helped mitigate further damage.

Sheriff McMahill acknowledged that the structure of the Cybertruck helped contain the blast.

“The fact this was a Cybertruck really limited the damage,” he explained. “The explosion went upward rather than outward, sparing the Trump Hotel’s front glass doors.”

Elon Musk had previously stated that the Cybertruck’s stainless steel armor made it “the worst possible choice for a car bomb” due to its ability to contain explosions better than most other vehicles.

Elon Musk and Tesla have been actively cooperating with the investigation.

After the incident, Musk confirmed that the explosion was not caused by any mechanical failure in the vehicle. Tesla’s cars continuously transmit data on their state of health, ruling out a mechanical issue.

Additionally, Tesla provided investigators with valuable data to aid their inquiry. They also gave access to CCTV footage from charging stations across the country.

This data has proven essential in the ongoing investigation. Law enforcement sources are now treating the Las Vegas Cybertruck explosion as a likely act of terrorism.

While, this is especially true in light of the similar attack in New Orleans.

The incidents have raised concerns about potential coordinated attacks, and authorities are continuing to investigate the connection between the two.

Additionally, Sheriff McMahill stated, “We are absolutely looking into any connections to New Orleans.”

Now, the investigation continues into the incident.
