In the end, Rebel Wilson had a smaller part in the 2011 comedy movie.

Rebel Wilson has recently made claims regarding Melissa McCarthy's casting in the popular movie Bridesmaids, suggesting that there was only one reason McCarthy got the role over her.

Even though Rebel Wilson was in the movie, she thinks she didn't get a big role because of something Melissa McCarthy had that she didn't.

In the funny movie Bridesmaids from 2011, Rebel Wilson acted as Brynn, who was Annie's roommate.

Brynn was known for having a weird tattoo of a 'Mexican drinking worm.' But Brynn didn't get to be part of the group of bridesmaids in the film

That opportunity went to Melissa McCarthy, who was already famous for her acting in The Back-up Plan and Gilmore Girls.

Wilson, while speaking on stage at the London Palladium, revealed her audition experience for the role of Megan, which ultimately went to McCarthy.

Wilson claimed that she never stood a chance because the filmmakers already favored McCarthy. According to Wilson, "They were always going to give it to Melissa because she was their friend."

Because the filmmakers believed Rebel Wilson looked like Matt Lucas, who had already been chosen as Annie's other roommate, they offered her the role of Brynn in Bridesmaids.

Wilson shared a funny story about her audition, saying, "I went in and started making things up, and it went on for an hour...

Then they called and said, 'You got the part!' And I asked, 'Which part?' And they replied, 'Not that part. You really resemble Matt Lucas'."

Although Rebel Wilson felt let down by the role she received, she recognized that being chosen for a Hollywood film was still an achievement, even if it wasn't the specific role she had hoped for.

However, she expressed her sincere desire to portray the character that Melissa McCarthy eventually played, saying, "I really wanted the Melissa McCarthy role... Yeah, but I don't really have a role."

The director, Paul Feig, had high praise for Melissa McCarthy's audition for the character Megan in Bridesmaids.

He even described it as a "religious moment" for him.

McCarthy's performance as the outspoken character received positive feedback from both viewers and reviewers, earning her widespread recognition.

Rebel whines a lot. A whole lot. Everything is the fault of others too. No personal responsibility for anything, another wrote.

Oh sour grapes Wilson! Melissa got the role simply because she has real talent. She's better at it my dear, someone wrote.
