The sculptor behind the recent statue of NBA legend Dwyane Wade has responded to backlash from fans.
The statue was unveiled on October 27 outside the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. While it was meant to celebrate Wade’s illustrious career, many fans were left disappointed by its appearance.
Sculptor Omri Amrany, who collaborated with Oscar León on the project, defended his work in an interview with WPLG Local 10 News.
He stated, “I couldn’t do better than that. I don’t think anybody else can do better than that.” Amrany emphasized his pride in the statue, saying, “It is what it is, and we will love it forever.”
Dwyane Wade’s statue still has supporters who defend it.
