Viewers debate the running costs of the Tesla Cybertruck

While Wallace’s findings were eye-opening, many social media users pointed out important factors that could affect the overall cost of running a Cybertruck.

One commenter noted, “The $32 charge may not be impressive if it only covers 600 miles. It’s important to consider the vehicle’s range compared to fuel costs for hybrids.”

Another user highlighted the daily energy consumption, mentioning that their Cybertruck uses 12kWh per day just sitting parked. This amounts to $4.20 per day when charging at home, though some owners benefit from free supercharging for a limited time.

While, others raised concerns about the long-term costs of owning a Cybertruck, particularly the initial purchase price.

Additionally, someone pointed out that the vehicle’s $100,000 price tag might not justify the savings in charging costs. The comparison was made to the much lower monthly expenses of running an older, non-electric vehicle.

One person said: If you roadtrip, it’s very expensive using the superchargers!

A second wrote: Honestly my car could survive 31 days and each full fill up is like 60 dollars so let’s say 2 every 31 days the 4x the amount of money maybe it’s time for me to get a tesla what would you recommend

While a third commented: I spent $36.20 on gas this past month. Is it worth spending $100k+ on a vehicle to save $4 every month?

Another added: 1kwh will go about 2 miles on the cyber truck at 634kwh used or driven……. So he drove roughly 1270 miles but id say about 1000 miles… 32 bucks thats pretty good

While the Tesla Cybertruck may offer significant environmental benefits, the long-term costs of owning one should not be overlooked.

The 31-day charging experiment revealed that charging costs may be lower than expected. However, factors like the vehicle’s high purchase price and the time spent charging are crucial to consider.

Ultimately, whether the Cybertruck is a worthwhile investment depends on the individual owner’s needs and priorities.
