A Texas couple passed away after being electrocuted in a hot tub at a holiday resort in Mexico, leading to a tragic accident.

A tragic accident struck a married couple from Texas vacationing in Mexico.

The incident occurred at the Sonoran Sea Resort on Tuesday, June 11, when the couple was electrocuted in a hot tub.

As a result, the husband died and the wife’s struggle for her life.   A Texas married couple experiences a horrible accident during their holiday in Mexico.

The couple, identified as Jorge Guillen, 43, and Lizette Zambrano, 35, from El Paso, were enjoying their stay at the resort when the accident happened.

The tragic accident occurred when hotel guests noticed something unusual and spotted Jorge and Lizette unresponsive in the hot tub.

CCTV footage from the resort captured a fellow vacationer attempting to administer CPR to the couple before emergency services arrived.

Unfortunately, Jorge Guillen succumbed to the electric shock, while Lizette Zambrano was rushed to a nearby US hospital near the border. She remains in critical condition, fighting for her life.

After the incident, the reason for the tragic incident was investigated.

The Sonora Attorney General’s Office is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the apparent electric shock. The details of what led to the fatal accident are still under scrutiny.

Additionally,  video footage of the incident has been circulating online, showing the tragic scene of the couple in the hot tub.

The footage captures the horror of fellow guests as they witnessed the accident, gained attenton on social media.

One person said: Happened to me in puerto Vallarta. Two exposed 240v wires just sticking out of a retaining wall. Was pretty shocking
