In a recent interview, Trump praised good sleep habits as he opened up about what he admired about ‘sleepy Joe’ Biden.
Trump offers rare praise for Biden’s sleeping habits
Former President Donald Trump recently shared an unusual compliment about President Joe Biden. He praised Biden’s ability to fall asleep quickly, calling it the only thing he admired about him.
In an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Trump joked about Biden’s frequent beach naps.
“He’d go to a beach, lay down on a cot — barely able to get his feet through the sand — he’d lay down and within minutes he’s sleeping and have cameras watching.”
While, Trump continued by saying, “I would never be able to sleep like that. That’s the only thing that I think that was wonderful. It was a disaster, this man was a disaster.”
Trump’s own sleep habits differ significantly
During Trump’s first term, his White House physician, Dr. Ronny Jackson, claimed he functioned on four to five hours of sleep per night.
“I don’t sleep much,” Trump admitted to Ingraham. “A lot of people that love what they are doing don’t sleep much, I find. And so far it’s been OK.”
Trump’s long-standing nickname for Biden
Additionally, Trump has often called Biden “Sleepy Joe.”
The nickname is part of his habit of using belittling names for political opponents.
He previously mocked Marco Rubio as “Little Marco” and Hillary Clinton as “Crooked Hillary.”
Biden’s frequent beach visits spark Trump’s comments
Throughout his presidency, Biden vacationed at Rehoboth Beach and was often photographed lounging near the ocean.
On the campaign trail, Trump criticized Biden’s beach appearances. During a rally last October, Trump mocked Biden’s beach body.
“He goes to the beach all the time,”
Trump added: “Somebody told him he looks great in a bathing suit. Typically — typically — an 82-year-old man does not look great in a bathing suit. There may be a couple, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen it.”
Despite his criticism, Trump acknowledged that Biden left a respectful letter in the Oval Office’s Resolute Desk.
The note followed the tradition of outgoing presidents leaving messages for their successors.
“My prayer is that the coming years will be a time of prosperity, peace, and grace for our nation,” Biden wrote.
“May God bless you and guide you as He has blessed and guided our beloved country since our founding.”
Trump takes further action against Biden’s family
Earlier this week, Trump made another move targeting Biden by revoking Secret Service protection for Ashley and Hunter Biden.
He also questioned the legitimacy of Biden’s pardons, citing the use of an autopen to sign official documents.
As the political rivalry continues, Trump remains vocal about his criticisms while occasionally offering unexpected remarks about his successor.
