On social media, many viewers were stunned as Trump slammed Fox News hosts and demanded their retirement after critical coverage.
Donal Trump slamed Fox News host
In Truth Social posts Sunday night, Donald Trump lashes out at Fox News hosts for weak defense and negative analysis.
The US president sharply criticized two prominent Fox News hosts.
He accused them of undermining his image during recent political analysis segments
Trump blasted Howard Kurtz and Karl Rove for their comments about his actions during his first 100 days back in office.
Kurtz, 71, hosted a panel on Media Buzz that discussed Trump’s recent decision to fire national security advisor Mike Waltz.
The segment also covered Trump’s declining poll numbers.
Although Kurtz defended Trump during the discussion, it wasn’t enough for the former president.
Trump accused him of weak support and called for his immediate retirement
Trump targets Howard Kurtz for including critical media in his Fox News segment
Trump was especially angered that Kurtz included news clips from outlets like CNN and MSNBC.
The president called the coverage woke and fake despite Kurtz’s attempts at balance.
He wrote: ‘Every Woke Anchor in the Business, people that no one watched from CNN, MSDNC and others are plastered all over his show with all really negative and fake statements and then I am weakly “defended” by Howie and his group (although Ben Domenech has been strong.
‘The case Howie makes for me is so pathetic that it would be a lot better if he didn’t say anything,’ Trump added.
Kurtz responded on X (formerly Twitter), brushing off the backlash.
He said that he had known Trump for 35 years and wouldn’t be interviewed if Trump truly disliked him.
Karl Rove’s comments on Trump’s poll numbers spark even more backlash
Later that evening, Trump tuned into Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy.
During the show, Karl Rove criticized Trump’s performance. He offered suggestions on how Trump could improve his approval ratings.
Additionally, Rove emphasized the need to restore economic confidence and address inflation, highlighting issues like gas prices and looming tariffs.
Trump didn’t hold back, writing: “I don’t need Karl Rove of Fox News to tell me what to do. He’s a total loser who’s been wrong about everything.”
The post continued his pattern of calling out longtime Republican insiders who question his tactics or political performance.
Trump’s tension with Fox News continues to escalate ahead of 2024
Trump’s attacks on Fox News are not new.
Previously he has repeatedly criticized the network when coverage doesn’t fully align with his views or praises his decisions.
In the past, he has targeted hosts like Chris Wallace and Neil Cavuto.
Trump suggested that the network favors establishment figures over his America First agenda.
As Trump positions himself for another White House run, he remains sensitive to media criticism—even from networks that traditionally supported him.
