A man in Australia was left shocked after accidentally ordering Uber Eats to an address in Dublin, Ireland—9,600 miles away.
A meal gone wrong
Oisin Lenehan, 29, had been living in Melbourne for six years. While staying with friends Kyle, 33, and Sarah, 29, he decided to order food as a thank-you gesture.
He placed a $65 order for BBQ chicken pizzas, garlic bread, and chips. Everything seemed normal until he checked the confirmation details.
Lenehan’s heart sank when he realized the delivery address was in Dublin.
“I was absolutely gutted,” he told Jam Press. “The food was being sent to a place in Dublin where I’d been for a night out.”
With hunger setting in, he had to explain the situation to Uber Eats customer service.
The viral phone call
His friends recorded the call and posted it on TikTok, where it quickly gained over 500,000 views. In the video, Lenehan could be heard saying, “I need to cancel the order. I mistakenly left my own home address in the system.”
His friends laughed in the background.
Luckily, Lenehan secured a full refund. While he didn’t get his food, he did get his money back.
Kyle recalled, “He was so respectful on the phone. We were laughing our heads off.”
The story took an amusing turn when Lenehan started receiving messages from strangers.
“People have been asking for his social media and saying he can have a takeaway delivered to their house,” Kyle said.
Some women even asked for his number.
“I love that people found it funny,” Lenehan said. “These incidents happen to me all the time. I didn’t realize there was an audience for it.”
His international food mishap turned into an unforgettable moment—and an unexpected rise to internet fame.
