Vijay Mallya, the owner of the $20 million ‘Sky Mansion,’ built on top of 400ft skyscraper may never actually live in it.
‘Sky Mansion’ – a unique architectural marvel
Vijay Mallya constructed a mansion on top of the Kingfisher Towers in UB City, Bengaluru, India.
This controversial $20 million sky mansion is unlike any other. Designed to replicate the White House, it boasts impressive features.
The mansion includes an infinity pool, a helipad, and vast gardens. Perched 400 feet above the ground, it occupies 40,000 square feet. However, the owner may never actually reside in this luxurious space.
Sky Mansion’s owner faced trouble in the background
Mallya fled India in 2010, abandoning debts exceeding $1 billion (£842 million).
He faces charges, including fraud, and relocated to the UK. As a result, he may never get to experience his extravagant home.
In 2022, British Security Minister Tom Tugendhat addressed Mallya’s extradition case. He emphasized that the UK would not become a haven for those evading justice. Mallya denies any wrongdoing.
Tugendhat stated, “We have legal processes that must be gone through. The UK government has no intention of becoming a place for those evading justice.”
The mansion remains empty
Currently, the sky mansion remains empty.
There are rumors that Mallya has never even set foot inside it. Irfan Razack, chairman of Prestige Estates Projects, oversaw the construction of the tower.
He remarked, “It was a challenge to construct the mansion on a huge cantilever at that height, but we built it exactly as conceived.”
Despite the emptiness, people often admire the structure from below.
Comments online reflect the building’s allure. One user praised it as “one of the best properties in the country.” They highlighted its proximity to luxury amenities and the heart of the city.
Another comment celebrated the mansion as “a stunning $20 million property showcasing luxury living in Bengaluru’s bustling city.”
Vijay Mallya’s $20 million sky mansion symbolizes both ambition and controversy.
As it stands empty atop Kingfisher Towers, its future remains uncertain.
While the mansion is a marvel of architecture, its owner’s legal troubles overshadow its grandeur. Whether Mallya will ever live in this magnificent home remains to be seen.
