Mallya fled India in 2010, abandoning debts exceeding $1 billion (£842 million).

He faces charges, including fraud, and relocated to the UK. As a result, he may never get to experience his extravagant home.

In 2022, British Security Minister Tom Tugendhat addressed Mallya’s extradition case. He emphasized that the UK would not become a haven for those evading justice. Mallya denies any wrongdoing.
