The woman dropped her iPhone into a deep crevasse while attempting to retrieve it.

She fell headfirst into a three-meter hole between large boulders. As a result, she became trapped with her feet in the air and unable to free herself.

Her friends attempted to call for help but faced challenges due to the lack of phone reception.

They dialed Australia’s emergency number, triple zero, but were unable to reach emergency services.

The rescue team worked to save the trapped woman

After hanging upside down for an hour, New South Wales paramedics arrived at the scene.

They described the situation as something they had never encountered before.

Rescuers faced a daunting task. They needed to create a stable wooden frame before removing several heavy boulders to avoid additional risks. The rocks weighed over 500 kilograms and posed a danger to the trapped woman.

After clearing the boulders, the rescuers navigated her through a tight “S” bend in the rock formation.

NSW Ambulance specialist rescue paramedic Peter Watts commented, “In my 10 years as a rescue paramedic, I had never encountered a job quite like this. It was challenging but incredibly rewarding.”

The entire rescue operation lasted more than seven hours. Fortunately, the woman sustained only bruises and scratches despite her predicament.

Although she was successfully rescued, the woman’s iPhone remained lost in the crevasse.

The rescue drew attention on social media, where Facebook users praised the paramedics.

One person said: Sometimes people need to use their brains risking her life for a phone tsk.
