Amazon is expanding drone deliveries in select U.S. areas, leaving one woman puzzled after capturing a drone delivering her parcel.
A woman was left amazed when she saw a drone deliver her Amazon package in her backyard.
This unusual event has drawn attention because drone deliveries are still new for many people.
The woman, known as Mrs. H, decided to capture the moment on video and share it with others.
The arrival of the drone
Amazon started using drones for deliveries a few years ago.
The company has been testing this service in different areas, including parts of Texas and Arizona. The goal is to make deliveries faster and easier.
Mrs. H ordered some clarinet reeds and was excited to see how quickly they would arrive.
She placed her order and was told to expect it within an hour.
To prepare for the delivery, Mrs. H went outside and sat in her garden. She wanted to see the drone as it approached.
While waiting, she explained that the Amazon app shows which items are eligible for drone delivery.
This feature helps customers know if they can expect their orders to arrive by air.
Woman stunned as she unexpectedly gets Amazon package delivered by a drone
In her video, Mrs. H pointed to the sky, hoping to catch a glimpse of the drone.
She knew the warehouse was located in a specific direction, so she chose to sit on the opposite side of her yard.
This way, she thought she could see the drone coming in.
As she waited, she also mentioned that other drones could be seen flying around.
However, she was not sure where her package would come from.
Soon, Mrs. H noticed that her predictions were incorrect.
The drone that delivered her package came from a different direction than she had expected.
While she was excited to finally see the drone, she was also surprised by how strong the wind was from its propellers.
It blew through the trees in her yard, adding to the drama of the moment.
“The cool thing is that they give you this map where you get to select where it’s going to drop,” she said.
“Am I going to sit in my backyard for an hour until it’s delivered? Yes, of course I am.”
She added: “I have no idea which direction they’re gonna come from.
“I know the warehouse is in this direction,” she said pointing towards where she meant. “So I’ve decided to sit on the [opposite] side of my yard.”
@teaching_mrsh FAQ answered: @Teaching Mrs. H – Tamara H Drone delivery is kind of fun. Not sponsored – just entertained by it. I have not been paid by Amazon to post or film this – or Vandoren for that matter. There are quite a few flying overhead during the day. #dronevideo #deonedelivery #notsponsored #creatorsearchinsights #notanad
The drone delivered the package successfully.
When the drone arrived, it hovered above her backyard before lowering the package to the ground.
Mrs. H continued filming, curious about how the delivery would go.
“One thing I did not expect was the wind that was coming from the propellers were this strong. Look at my tree – it’s crazy” she said.
This was her first experience with a drone delivery, and she was eager to see how it worked.
She also wondered if the noise would scare her cats, who were inside the house.
As the drone lowered the package, Mrs. H noticed that the box was larger than she expected for a set of clarinet reeds.
She commented that the size was likely needed to protect the contents during the flight.
After the package dropped, the drone flew back to the warehouse, leaving Mrs. H with her delivery.
“The box is a lot larger than I expected for a box of clarinet reeds, but I guess to protect whatever is inside, it needs to be a good size.
And then also to fit inside the drone safely,” she said as she carried her box inside the house.

After sharing her experience online, many people reacted with surprise and excitement.
