A woman has taken legal action against JetBlue Airways after she claims that a frozen ice cream sandwich served on a flight caused her to fracture a tooth.

The incident occurred on August 20, 2024, during JetBlue flight 1907.
The flight was traveling from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.
Quinonez was flying with her fiancé when she received the ice cream sandwich.
According to her, it was “frozen solid” and not safe to eat. She claims that there was no warning about the extreme cold of the dessert.

Quinonez’s lawsuit details that she suffered severe injuries after biting into the ice cream sandwich.
This included a root fracture in her upper left lateral incisor, also known as tooth number 10.
The injury led to an emergency dental procedure, which included the extraction of the damaged tooth and plans for an implant.
In her complaint, Quinonez states that the airline’s negligence caused her significant pain and suffering.
She describes the emotional distress and mental anguish she has experienced since the injury.
The lawsuit claims that she has incurred medical expenses that continue to rise.
The complaint argues that JetBlue failed to provide food at a reasonable and safe temperature.
It also criticizes the airline for not alerting passengers about the risks associated with consuming the ice cream sandwich in its solid state.
Quinonez is seeking compensation for her injuries, medical costs, and other damages, with the total amount to be determined by a jury.
This lawsuit comes after another recent case involving JetBlue.
In that instance, a different passenger claimed to have suffered burns from a hot cup of tea spilled during turbulence.
A crew member is accused of spilling a very hot cup of tea on passenger Tahjana Lewis.
As a result, she suffered injuries to her upper chest, breasts, legs, left buttock, and right arm, along with disfigurement and scars.
That passenger also filed a lawsuit, seeking over $1.5 million in damages for her injuries.
