The Regent International is an enormous apartment block located in the heart of China's bustling city of Hangzhou.

It has garnered global attention for its unique lifestyle. With 20,000 residents who never have to step foot outside, this self-contained community has generated curiosity among viewers about their lives inside the building.

The Regent International building boasts its massive architecture

The Regent International is located in Hangzhou's central business district, offering a self-contained ecosystem where everything is established a very short distance from residents.

The Regent International is one of the largest buildings in China and possesses a giant structure, standing at an impressive 675 feet tall and covering a staggering 260,000 square meters.

Inside this massive architecture, residents can find numerous amenities and services. 

From a huge food court to barber shops, nail salons, medium-sized supermarkets, swimming pools, and even internet cafes, Regent International was established to provide its inhabitants with the feeling of a small world.

This complex can accommodate a staggering 30,000 residents, while currently, it is only home to 20,000 residents.

However, because of its incredible capacity, it is often said to be more polluted than other places.

Some people say that you will feel a bit uncomfortable with the air here unless you go outside to breathe fresh air.

The Regent International building caused a stir on the Internet

Recently, the popularity of this extraordinary complex has gone viral thanks to its appearance on social media platforms like TikTok and has created heated debates on social media.

The videos captured the entire scene of a large-scale apartment complex with more than 20,000 households.

Some people dream of living in a 'miniature world' like Regent International with all the necessary amenities.

Meanwhile, some people say it brings a feeling of overwhelm and pollution that makes them uncomfortable.

The cost of living in the Regent International 

Initially, this building was designed to be a six-star hotel by its chief designer, Alicia Loo. However, it then was renovated into a massive apartment.

According to the residents, the cost of living here depends on the size and amenities of the apartments. 

While smaller apartments without windows can be rented for approximately $210 per month, larger ones with balconies can cost up to $570.
