Anna Wintour reveals unique food rules, including the banning of certain foods from the Met Gala menu.

The Met Gala is the most famous fashion event in the world, attracting stars from all corners of the globe who pay a staggering $75,000 for access. 

However, not all celebrities can partake in this event due to its luxury and fame.

Anna Wintour reveals unique food rules for the Met Gala, where attendees are required to follow plenty of regulations, even concerning food.

Anna Wintour, Vogue's legendary former editor-in-chief, has revealed some lesser-known rules about the Met Gala, leaving many surprised.

From the information about the Met Gala event behind the scenes, Anna Wintour, Vogue's former legendary editor-in-chief, reveals the unique food rules. 

In the interview with Today host Jenna Bush Hager at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Restoration Lab, Wintour explained some of these rules just days before the big event on May 6.

These ingredients, including onions, chives, and garlic, were banned from the menu.

According to Wintour, these include onions, chives, and garlic. "Well, those are three things I'm not particularly fond of, and so yes, that's true,” Wintour stated.

These ingredients are banned from the cooking process.

Additionally, there's also speculation that parsley is banned to prevent celebrities from having an embarrassing moment with greenery stuck in their teeth. But the rules don't stop there.

Not only were celebrities banned from unique food, but they were also prohibited from using telephones.

The regulations of the Met Gala inform guests that the event is a cell-phone-free zone. They are encouraged to leave their devices at home to promote engaging conversations with other attendees

Wintour added, "It's often wonderful to hear after dinner, people say, ‘Oh, we had the most wonderful conversations,’ and so that's the idea, that life can exist without a picture on your cell phone."

The Met Gala also has an age limit, and no one under 18 is allowed to attend. 

According to Anna Wintour, the Met Gala event brings a lot of information suitable for adults and offers more experiences.

In 2018, when asked if she would attend the Met Gala red carpet, 16-year-old model and dancer Maddie Ziegler told The Hollywood Reporter: "I can't go because I'm not old enough."

Smoking is also prohibited in the museum.

The Met Gala invitation clearly states that smoking is strictly prohibited.

In 2017, Bella Hadid, Dakota Johnson, and Marc Jacobs were found smoking in the museum's bathroom. The incident disappointed board members and sponsors, who said it was "disrespectful to art.

Wintour has strict rules about seating arrangements. 

At the Met Gala, husbands and wives can never sit together.

“The point of an event is to meet new people and be interested in what other people are doing. If you’re here to hang out with your husband, then what’s the point?” Sylvana Ward Durrett, director of special projects at Vogue, told Pagesix.
