A girl died after a sand hole she had dug in the sand collapsed on a Florida beach.
A heartbreaking scene occurred on a Florida beach when beachgoers tried to rescue a young girl trapped in a sand hole, however, despite their efforts, 7-year-olds still died.
The heartbreaking incident occurred when a 7-year-old girl, reported to be named Sloan, and her 9-year-old brother, named Maddox, were digging a sandhole, but tragedy struck as the sandhole collapsed.
As reported by the police, the young girl who died after the sandhole collapsed in Florida has been confirmed to be Sloan Mattingly from Indiana.
The young girl was digging a hole at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea beach in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday (February 20) when tragedy struck.
The collapse of the hole, estimated to be four to five feet deep, trapped Sloan and her nine-year-old brother, Maddox. While Maddox was buried up to his chest, Sloan was completely submerged beneath the sand.
A frantic 911 call also revealed the desperate attempts by beachgoers to rescue her, leaving several people heartbroken.

A video, showed that approximately 20 beachgoers rushed to assist the trapped girl, while others promptly dialed 911 for help.
Lee Ann Heinlein, who was known as a witness, recounted the chaotic scene.
Witness Lee Ann Heinlein told CBS: "You could see everybody digging every time. More help came. There were more shovels arriving on the scene. You could hear them calling for buckets.
"All you can think about is the parents. I mean, and the little boy that was their son. Now, they have to go through a whole different kind of learning to live."
Additionally, Sloan's mother, Therese, expressed the profound loss caused by the "freak accident," in the conversation with CBS News.
She said: "A freak accident happened yesterday while we are here on vacation and it took away our greatest 7.5 years.
"Don't tell us you're sorry for our loss... don't do that to us. We experienced the purest human being ever and we are forever changed by her.
"We love you beyond any stretch of the imagination. Our sweet Sloan. What we would give."
The boy, fortunately, remained in stable condition following the incident
The identities of the children, whether they were locals or tourists, have not been disclosed due to their tender ages.
NBC Miami reported a witness capturing a video of the boy being swiftly carried away by first responders after being freed from the sand hole.
According to the report, the duration of time the girl was trapped in the sand remains unclear
