A fan of Britney Spears was shocked after watching the video she posted, in which she played with knives on her Instagram. Subsequently, it was reported that the Ventura County Sheriff's Department conducted a welfare check on the singer to ensure her well-being.
Local law enforcement officers visited Spears at her $7.4 million mansion to carry out a safety and wellness check. The outcome confirmed that the singer was okay, as the officers spoke with the mother-of-two and determined that she was in good condition
The welfare check was prompted by 'several' calls to the police regarding an unsettling Instagram video she had shared. In the video, Spears worried fans after dancing wildly with two huge knives.
Earlier in the week, Spears reassured her fans that the knives she was handling were not real, despite some fans claiming to hear the 'clanging' of knives during her dance.
She wrote, 'I started playing in the kitchen with knives today. Don't worry they are NOT real knives!!! Halloween is soon'.
In her subsequent video, posted on Tuesday night, Spears performed a choreographed routine without any knives, captioning it with 'Lighten up about the knives; I'm copying Shakira.'
This welfare check is reminiscent of a similar incident that took place in January when police conducted a welfare check on Spears. This concern was raised after she repeatedly deleted her Instagram for the seventh time in less than a year.
Deputies dispatched to her Thousand Oaks residence at the time concluded that there was no reason to believe she was in danger.
However, Fans became worried about the "Toxic" singer after she shared a video on Instagram in which she performed a dangerous dance.
