In a daring test of a new software update, a Cybertruck owner decided to challenge a potentially "dangerous" feature.
The TikToker's curiosity led them to explore the functionality of the frunk (front trunk) and its pinch safety measures. The results of their experiment left them surprised and concerned.
A Cybertruck owner recently decided to challenge a "dangerous" feature after a new update and received an unexpected outcome.
In recent times, a TikToker made the daring choice to test out a new "dangerous" feature on their Tesla Cybertruck.
Since the highly anticipated and quite expensive Cybertruck was finally released by Tesla a few months ago, many proud owners have taken to social media to conduct what is known as the "carrot test" on their futuristic vehicles.
This test involves placing a carrot inside the frunk (front trunk) to assess the potential danger, as people had noticed the sharp edge of the trunk.
Car doors and electric windows in cars have had anti-pinch mechanisms installed for decades to enhance safety.
These mechanisms prevent the door or window from closing if there is resistance, such as someone's finger is in the way. Without these measures, these features could pose a significant risk.
However, when it comes to the Cybertruck, it appears that this safety feature was not initially installed in the trunk.
When individuals performed the carrot test, the electric môtr closing the door effortlessly sheared off the carrot. It doesn't take much imagination to understand the potential harm such force could cause to a finger.
The purpose of this update is to prevent the door from closing further if it detects any form of resistance. Essentially, the new feature aims to enhance safety during the operation of the frunk.
One TikToker, @jeremyjudkins2, decided to put this update to the test. Starting with other objects, such as a banana, the door successfully stopped before causing any damage.
However, when the tip of a carrot was placed in the door, it didn't provide enough resistance to prevent the door from shutting, resulting in the end of the carrot being chopped off.
The TikToker proceeded to put their index finger directly into the door and closed it. Experiencing immediate pain upon contact, they quickly used their other hand to push back against the door.
Fortunately, they were able to prevent any serious injury, but a noticeable red mark on their finger raised concerns about the effectiveness of the update if it were a fingertip or a child's finger in the way.
The TikToker mentioned in their video that they had shared it on Elon Musk's platform and suggested that the Cybertruck engineers should consider making some adjustments.
Another Tesla's potentially fatal fault left people concerned about the brand's credibility.
A TikTok video posted by a Cybertruck owner caused a stir as it revealed a potentially life-threatening flaw.
The footage showed how the pedal cover could slip and lock the pedal in a fully depressed position. This presented significant dangers, particularly for individuals prone to panic attacks.
In response to false claims about Cybertruck deliveries resuming, Elon Musk emphasized Tesla's cautious approach, acknowledging the issue at hand.
