Donald Judd Foundation files a lawsuit against Kim Kardashian regarding her 'knockoff' furniture.

Kim Kardashian’s taste in home decor has sparked controversy, leading to legal action.

The reality star-turned-mogul faces a lawsuit from the estate of artist Donald Judd, who accuses her of passing off “knockoff versions” of Judd’s furniture as authentic.

In a now-deleted 2022 video tour of her Skkn by Kim office, Kardashian showcased minimalist wooden pieces resembling two Judd designs: La Mansana Table 22 and Chair 84, praising them as “really amazing” and perfectly matching her decor.

However, lawsuit documents obtained by Page Six Style reveal that Kardashian, 43, engaged interior design firm Clements Design to furnish her office.

The Judd Foundation alleges that Clements Design “manufactured and sold knockoff versions” of Judd’s designs, which were then installed in Kardashian’s workspace.

The foundation claims that Clements Design used images of the original Judd table and chairs in its proposal to Kardashian, falsely implying that the pieces provided were authorized and authentic Donald Judd furniture.

The lawsuit, filed on Wednesday (March 27) in the District Court for the Central District of California, accuses Kardashian of false claims and implicates Clements Design in trademark and copyright infringement.

The lawsuit has a statement that “Consumers are likely to believe Judd Foundation and the Donald Judd brand are connected or affiliated with, or otherwise sponsored or endorsed Ms. Kardashian.

“Judd Foundation categorically prohibits customers from using purchased Donald Judd furniture for marketing and promotional purposes.”

The foundation accused the company of trademark and copyright infringement.

The foundation asserts that consumers might wrongly assume a connection between Judd Foundation and Kardashian or believe that her usage of Judd’s furniture is endorsed by the foundation.

Additionally, it emphasizes that Judd Foundation strictly prohibits the use of purchased Donald Judd furniture for marketing or promotional purposes.

Clements Design, identified as the producer of the allegedly infringing tables and chairs, denied the accusations, stating that there are clear differences between Kardashian’s office furniture and the Judd Foundation’s designs.

Despite attempts to resolve the issue, the company asserts that Judd Foundation was unwilling to reach a reasonable settlement.
