A Brooklyn man won $10 million on a scratch-off ticket, just one year after winning the same sum in lottery jackpot at same store.

In a remarkable story about luck, Wayne Murray, a Brooklyn resident, has struck gold in the lottery once again.

He won a surprising $10 million on a scratch-off ticket.

This incredible win comes just one year after he claimed a similar prize from the New York Lottery, making him a two-time millionaire in a short period.

Wayne purchased his latest winning ticket from H&A Gas & Convenience on Avenue H in Flatbush.

This is the same store where he bought his first winning ticket.

This time, he played the New York Lottery’s 200X scratch-off game, which costs $30 to enter.

His previous $10 million win was from the Black Titanium game, also priced at $30.

Both games have gained popularity among players, but the odds of winning such large prizes are incredibly slim.

When approached for an interview, Wayne chose to remain humble about his remarkable fortune.

He expressed a desire for privacy, stating, “Some of us just like to be discreet. I just want to be discreet, that’s all it is.”

Modesty appears to be a defining trait for Murray.

Both his neighbors and the store clerk describe him as a down-to-earth person who hasn’t changed despite his wealth.

Hassan Nabil, a clerk at the gas station, commented on Murray’s character, saying, “He’s a super regular guy here.

He’s very friendly with the locals and very generous with his time.”

Nabil also mentioned that many people would likely change after such significant wins, but Murray continues to live life simply and authentically.

Murray decided to take his winnings as a lump sum.

After taxes, he received just over $6 million from this recent win, similar to the amount he took home after his first jackpot.

Reflecting on his previous win, Murray described the experience as “very humbling and liberating.”

He emphasized that while the money is life-changing, it has not altered his core values or lifestyle.

Despite his newfound wealth, Murray has chosen to remain in the same home in East Flatbush where he has lived for many years.

Neighbors have noted that he continues to lead an unassuming life, and many were unaware of his lottery victories.

Constance Bryane, who lives next door, remarked, “I had no idea. He’s very humble that way.”

She praised him for being a caring neighbor who has always prioritized family and community.

The odds of winning lottery jackpot and scratch-off game

The odds of winning the 200X scratch-off game are approximately 1 in 3.64 million, while the odds for the Black Titanium game are about 3.53 million.

Lottery officials have not calculated the combined odds of winning both games, but it is undoubtedly a rare occurrence.

New York Lottery officials reported that scratch-off games generated over $4.4 billion in sales during the last fiscal year.

This revenue contributed significantly to the state’s education funding.

In the same period, the lottery provided more than $1 billion in aid to schools across New York City.
