A mother revealed that she prepared five weeks' worth of school lunches in just five minutes. While some agreed with her hack, many people expressed disagreement and anger about her approach.

Elise detailed her method, which involves making a substantial batch of 27 sandwiches in advance for her child's school lunches.

This hack helps her save time in the morning. She then places these sandwiches in the freezer, allowing them to thaw overnight before packing them into her child's lunchbox. An accompanying image portrayed neatly wrapped sandwiches, ready to be stored in the freezer.

She explained: 'Just to be clear; I don't expect my child to eat soggy sandwiches. They defrost well overnight.

'I also don't expect my child to eat frozen sandwiches. They are defrosted the night before.'

In the comments section, Elise shared her tip for preventing bread from becoming soggy, emphasizing the importance of selecting ingredients with low water content and suggesting that lettuce and cucumber should be avoided.

However, her time-saving technique left many parents feeling apprehensive, expressing concerns about potential issues such as soggy bread, frozen fillings, and an altered taste.

Her viral hack originated from her post in a popular Facebook group, but she soon found herself defending her parenting choices.

Elise also mentioned that she allows her child to pick the sandwich fillings. In the past, they've opted for sandwiches with choices like corned beef, cold roast lamb, poached chicken, and cheese.

The comments section saw an influx of responses from numerous parents, with some expressing concern about freezing deli meats.

One person said: In Canada, there aren't any hot lunches provided by schools so for twelve years, children make their own! Usually, at least a week of sandwiches are made at a time and it is much safer to store a frozen sandwich instead of having an egg one, for example, kept at room temperature for hours until eaten. It thaws in time for lunch and it's very fresh.

A second wrote: So she's double-handling the sandwich, which doesn't sound very efficient to me. If you are having to half make a sandwich, wrap it up, freeze it, then defrost it, unwrap it, and open up the sandwich to add the final ingredients on the morning it's eaten then why not just make the whole thing that morning?

A third commented: That's what I used to do/ as well as sandwiches for my husband to take to work. All that was needed in the morning was a banana or apple and off they went to school or work. As the children got older they started to make their own freezer sandwiches We had healthy kids and healthy food, and my grandchildren are now fed the same way.

Someone else said: How many criticize eating frozen ready meals? nothing wrong with freezing sandwiches just the same as batch cooking, then freezing the food for future meals. good for her.
