A popular Brazilian singer, Morais, passed away after being bitten by a spider on his face. He and his 18-year-old stepdaughter reportedly sustained spider bites at their family home in Miranorte do Tocantins.
He was reported to have taken his last breath at the General Hospital of Palmas (HGP) in the state of Tocantins on November 6, after suffering from symptoms for several days.
A gruesome photo showed his face with significant, darkened bite marks beneath his left eye.
Jhullyenny Lisboa, Morais's wife, said that Morais fell ill after being bitten by a spider at their house on October 31st. Lisboa recalls that he began to experience weakness, and the bruise on his face changed color due to the spider's bite
She said: "He felt weakness in his body and his face started to darken on the same day. He went to the hospital and was admitted to the HGP this Sunday."
His death has present investigated by Health authorities and determined the exact cause. At this point, it remains unclear which type of spider may have bitten him.
Brazil is known for being home to the Brazilian Wandering Spider, recognized by scientists as the world's most venomous spider. Additionally, the country hosts other lethal spider species, including black widows.
According to Brazilian news outlet G1, Jhullyenny Lisboa said his 18-year-old stepdaughter also suffered a spider bite and is currently hospitalized and in stable condition
