TikTok star Tabitha Swatosh shares her shock after her “dream house” was sold, leaving her unexpectedly homeless.
The 24-year-old influencer, known for her engaging videos, opened up about this unfortunate situation on social media.
TikToker is excited to start a new chapter in Nashville.
Tabitha, who is often called “Tabs” by her fans, gained popularity as part of a social media group called The Hype House.
Recently, she decided to move to Nashville, Tennessee, where she hoped to start a new chapter in her life.
She had been living in a large shared home in Tarzana, California, with her boyfriend, Michael Sanzone, and other friends, including Alex Warren and Kouvr Annon.
However, when Alex and Kouvr got married, they decided to find their own place, prompting Tabs and the others to do the same.
Tabs shared her moving journey online.
As part of her moving process, Tabs documented her journey on TikTok.
She shared videos of her packing and searching for a new home.
After finding a beautiful house in Nashville that she loved, she felt excited about the move.
After paying a deposit and signing a contract with the previous owner, she believed she had everything set for her transition.
TikToker breaks down in tears after her ‘dream house’ was sold out despite deposit
Tragically, just days before her planned move, disaster struck.
On December 18, she learned that the house she had chosen was sold to someone else.
This news came as a shock to her, especially since she had already arranged for movers to transport her belongings across the country.
In her emotional video, Tabs expressed her confusion and frustration, asking how this could happen after she had made all the necessary arrangements.
“I found a house last week that I liked last week in Nashville. It’s nice because it’s not very far from my friends,” she tearfully tells the camera.
“You’re genuinely just not even going to believe this,” she goes on. “My [real estate agent] and I went to go look at this house, I put my deposit down on my dream house.
Sitting in the yard of her rented home in Tarzana, she explained her situation to her viewers.
She revealed that she had expected to receive the keys to her new house on December 23.
Instead, she received a call from her real estate agent with the upsetting news that the house was no longer available.
With moving trucks ready and her possessions packed, Tabs found herself without a place to go.
“Today, I am supposed to pack and move across the country,” she says.
“And 30 minutes ago, my real estate agent called me, because he said he had bad news. … They sold the house we’re supposed to move into. How is that even possible?”
“I’m actually so confused. They have my deposit and in writing. And now my movers are here with nowhere to go,” she says. “I have nowhere to go.”
Tabs also reached out to her father during this crisis.
As she explained the situation to him, he tried to reassure her, saying that this unexpected turn could lead to new opportunities.
He encouraged her to look at the situation positively, reminding her that sometimes challenges can lead to unexpected outcomes.
“This is real life,” he says. “You’re looking at it from the negative. You’re not looking at it as an opportunity.” Then he adds, “I am sorry.”
“You being you, I feel for you, but I’m not worried about you,” he adds soothingly.
Tabs faced difficulties in her housing situation.
Despite the heartbreaking circumstances, Tabs has continued to engage with her audience, sharing updates and seeking advice on what to do next.
Her fans have rallied around her, showing love and support through their comments.
Many suggested she consult a lawyer to understand her rights regarding the deposit and the situation with the house sale.
Happens all the time. Welcome to the real estate world, one user said.
Like by definition she is currently homeless but she is not going to end up living on the streets or in a tent in the woods.
It is like when people who choose to live in their car or van claim to be homeless while recording their traveling escapades, the second user wrote.
Read the rental agreement first you overpaid, entitled, elite sponge, the third user commented.
LOL. Welcome to the real world “Tabs.” It’s not all fun and games as it is in your alternate influencer universe, another user said.
