Trump Draws Attention at UFC Event in Miami
On Saturday night, President Donald Trump made an appearance at the UFC event at the Kaseya Center in Miami. He was greeted with a hero’s welcome and loud chants of “U-S-A!” from the MMA-loving crowd. Joining him were his granddaughter Kai Trump and a group of prominent conservative figures, including DOGE CEO Elon Musk, FBI Director Kash Patel, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr., Senator Ted Cruz, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
Trump entered the arena to the tune of “Taking Care of Business,” greeting high-profile attendees such as UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan and Barstool Sports President Dave Portnoy. Later, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal approached the president for a handshake and hug ringside.
Celebrity Moments and Trump’s Signature “Shimmy”
During breaks between the bouts, Trump delighted the crowd by performing his signature shoulder “shimmy.” After scoring a knockout victory, light heavyweight fighter Dom Reyes and his entire team stopped by Trump’s ringside seats to take a celebratory photo with the president and “First Buddy” Elon Musk.
Before the event, Trump joked aboard Air Force One about who would win that night, saying, “There are a lot of good fights. Who’s going to win? Dana White. Dana White is going to win,” referring to his longtime supporter and UFC CEO.
Highlight Fights and Surprising Results
The main event featured Australia’s Alexander Volkanovski against Brazil’s Diego Lopes for the recently vacated featherweight title. The intense bout went the distance, with Volkanovski emerging victorious, becoming the first fighter over 35 to win a UFC title in any division below welterweight.
In the lightweight division, Michael Chandler faced off against fan-favorite Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett, who won by TKO in the third round.
Trump had last attended a UFC event in the fall at UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden, where he was met with thunderous applause. This time, he again shared light moments with UFC CEO Dana White, the two laughing and chatting as the crowd roared.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk brought along his son X, who previously went viral for wiping a booger on the Resolute Desk during a visit to the Oval Office earlier this year.
According to his schedule, President Trump departed for the airport at 11:05 p.m.
