The student has significantly large feet and hands
Eric is an impressive young man, standing at 6 feet 10 inches tall.
His feet measure an astonishing 13½ inches, which translates to a size 23 in men’s shoes.
For comparison, the average shoe size for males í typically around 8½ to 9.
His hands are also quite large, measuring 9.13 inches, while the average hand size for boys his age is about 7.4 inches.
Eric always felt different from his peers growing up because of his size.
The teen faces numerous challenges as having the largest feet and hands
Since kindergarten, he has been taller and bigger than most of his classmates.
However, he truly noticed the challenges of his size when he struggled to find shoes that fit him.
By the time he reached the fifth grade, he could no longer buy shoes in regular stores. This made everyday tasks difficult and uncomfortable.
To cope with his situation, Eric ended up wearing Crocs for two straight years, even during harsh Michigan winters.
Unfortunately, this choice led to painful problems like calluses, blisters, and ingrown toenails.
He even had to watch his football games from the sidelines due to a high ankle sprain caused by not having the right cleats.
Despite these difficulties, Eric has a positive outlook on life.
He enjoys meeting new people and often finds that his large feet and hands spark conversations.
“People are usually amazed and feel comfortable starting conversations with me about my size,” he said.
This openness has allowed him to connect with many interesting individuals.
As news of Eric’s unique records spread, he received support from various shoemakers, including Under Armor and Reebok.
Even NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal offered assistance, helping Eric get several pairs of shoes that fit him properly.
Eric expressed his gratitude, saying, “It was pretty cool to see how many people genuinely care about helping others.”
The teen enjoys nonprofit organizations to help others
Inspired by the kindness he received, Eric decided to give back to others facing similar challenges.
He is involved with a nonprofit organization called the Big Shoe Network, which was founded by his mother.
This organization aims to help people who struggle to find clothing and shoes in larger sizes.
Eric wants to support others just as he was supported.
He believes it’s important to encourage people to embrace their differences.
“It’s okay to stand out. Don’t let negativity distract you from your goals,” he advises.
Being included in the Guinness World Records book feels surreal to him.
“To have gone from reading the books to being inside the 2025 book is something I never would have imagined was even possible,” Eric shared.
