Growing up in a unique family setting can shape one’s childhood profoundly.

In a video on Mark Laita’s YouTube channel, Laita said he couldn’t confirm if the Whittaker parents are related.

“But given that this does happen in this part of the country and the Whittakers are the most extreme case I’ve seen so far.

I would bet that inbreeding was at least partly responsible for the mental and physical abnormalities seen in [siblings] Lorraine, Freddie, Ray, and [cousin] Timmy,”

Both brothers highlighted the enjoyable aspects of their childhood, such as fishing with family members like Freddie.

Growing up, the Whittaker grandsons lived in a small, simple house.

The family did not have much money, and they often struggled to get by.

However, the brothers found joy in small things. They played outside and explored the woods near their home.

However, as they grew older, they became more aware of their surroundings.

“It was ‘pretty fun as a kid’ growing up in the area.

“Until you got older and you kind of understand what’s going on,” Luis said.

Luis described a challenging period when he was put in foster care and restricted from seeing his grandpa due to family issues.

Brandon, who lived in the original family house, cherished his memories but expressed a desire to explore opportunities outside their current environment.

Both brothers acknowledged the limitations of their locality in terms of opportunities.

Luis voiced his aspiration to move to Indiana for better prospects, emphasizing the scarcity of opportunities where they currently reside.

“There are fewer opportunities living here.

Every day you’ve got to think if you’ll pull through or not – and make it until the end of the day,” Luis explained.

Brandon echoed this sentiment, stating concerns about his children’s future in the area and his own plans to move away soon.

“I worry about [my kids growing up round here]. I don’t think I’m gonna stick round here too long,” he added.

Despite the challenges they faced, Brandon now has two children and another on the way.
