Few people know that flight attendants often have the habit of carrying a banana when flying, and the reasons and benefits of this often surprise many people.

Bananas are a common fruit, which is both inexpensive and offers many unexpected benefits. Because they have effective effects in many situations, flight attendants often carry a banana with them when participating in flights.

Why do flight attendants bring bananas on board?

Flight attendants have to work at a relatively high altitude, so they often experience low oxygen levels and low pressure.

In addition, due to operating in different time zones, the biological clocks of flight attendants are often disrupted, which significantly affects their health, leading to common symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, insomnia, and fatigue.

Not to mention the dense flight schedules, which result in very little rest time for flight attendants.

Due to the excessive pressure and risks they have to endure, they need to replenish their health to continue their work. Bananas have an effective role in this case.

The reason flight attendants often carry a banana on board.

Due to the irregular flight schedules, the eating habits of flight attendants are often disrupted, which can lead to gastrointestinal and digestive disorders.

Bananas stimulate the growth and development of the gastric mucosa cells, which form the protective layer inside the stomach, preventing gastric acid from damaging the stomach lining.

If this mucosal layer is damaged, it can cause symptoms such as pain, inflammation, and ulcers. Using bananas helps flight attendants protect their stomachs, making them healthier and resistant to uncomfortable spasms that can occur at any time.

Furthermore, as the plane ascends, the air pressure decreases, which affects blood pressure. Bananas, with their high potassium content, help the body eliminate excess sodium and effectively regulate blood pressure, as well as prevent cardiovascular diseases.

Bananas contain a type of cellulose called pectin, which helps moisturize the intestines, allowing them to function smoothly and address issues such as constipation and digestive discomfort.

Moreover, bananas also help enhance visual acuity, which is essential for flight attendants. Bananas are also energy-rich foods that provide long-lasting satiety and contribute to strong bones and teeth, reducing the risk of cancer and many other diseases.

However, experts recommend consuming only 1 to 2 bananas per day and not exceeding that amount, as it can cause headaches, tooth decay, nausea, slow heartbeat, and nervous system damage. Any food, no matter how good it is, is only suitable for certain individuals and should be consumed in moderate amounts. Consuming too much can lead to adverse reactions.

Luggage is an essential item for passengers on flights, and the same goes for flight attendants. They also need to prepare certain items to serve their work and personal needs during their duties.

Here are some items commonly found in the luggage of flight attendants worldwide:

Flight documents: These are the necessary documents they must carry, including flight attendant ID cards, flight certificates, approved health certifications, and passports.

Smartphones and tablets with dedicated crew applications are also essential items in the luggage of flight attendants. These devices help them check flight information, update flight schedules, contact support units such as airport transportation teams, or make phone calls to the service center for assistance.

Flat shoes, gloves, outerwear, or spare uniforms are items that flight attendants always prepare in their luggage before each flight. Some careful flight attendants even carry a sewing kit to temporarily handle clothing incidents.

These items help them feel more comfortable while ensuring their health and maintaining professionalism in front of passengers.

Of course, flight attendants' luggage cannot be without clothing and personal hygiene items, makeup, and food storage bags. Many people also carry flashlights, first aid kits, snacks, notebooks, and pens to record essential flight information
