A burglar shocked a woman by hanging up her laundry, stocking her fridge, and mopping the floor before leaving her home.
In a strange incident that has captured public attention, a burglar in Wales took an unusual approach during a break-in.
Instead of stealing valuables, the intruder did household chores, hanging up laundry, stocking the fridge, and even cooking a meal before leaving.
Resident baffled as the burglar cleans home and stocks supplies perfectly before leaving
The incident occurred in July when a woman returned home to find her laundry neatly hung outside.
Initially confused, she soon discovered that someone had also cooked on her stove using her food and cleaned her home.
This bizarre turn of events left her feeling scared and violated.
The burglar, identified as 36-year-old Damian Wojnilowicz, was arrested after the incident.
He was charged with two counts of burglary after breaking into two homes in the same month.
Reports indicate that he not only did chores but also opened a bottle of wine, left candy on the table, and even changed the heads on her toothbrushes.
When the victim entered her home, she found items from her grocery bags put away in the fridge.
Additionally, the recycling bin had been emptied, and brand-new kitchen utensils were placed outside, while the old ones were thrown away.
The floor was mopped, and a mop and bucket were left outside, indicating that the burglar had taken the time to clean.
Woman shares anxiety and fear after home invasion
The woman described her feelings after the invasion, stating she was terrified to stay in her own home.
“Two weeks after the crime until he was caught, I was living in a state of heightened anxiety I had never experienced before,” the woman said.
The experience left her in a constant state of anxiety, leading her to seek refuge with friends for two weeks.
She wondered if the burglar had been watching her, fearing it might escalate into a stalking situation.
“I wondered if it was somebody who knew me, if it was going to turn into a stalking incident, if he knew I lived alone and if I had been targeted,” she continued.
“I was too scared to stay in my own home and stayed with a friend.”
In a separate incident in the same month, the burglar broke into another home.
The second victim received a notification from his security system about an intruder. When he arrived, he found the burglar using his hot tub and shower.
The intruder was caught when the homeowner’s son-in-law came by and discovered him with a drink in hand.
Wojnilowicz later pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 22 months in prison.
His lawyer mentioned that the burglar was homeless and struggling during the time of the break-ins.
The judge acknowledged the significant intrusion these acts caused to the victims.
The incident has sparked humorous discussion on social media.
Many people joked about the burglar’s unusual behavior, suggesting he could start a cleaning service or become a professional housekeeper.
