The woman arranged with her husband to be a full-time stay-at-home wife

Aly and Tom, who is 51 years old, have been married for nearly three years and are expecting their first child.

They met while both were in the military. During her engagement, Aly was balancing school and work but sensed that Tom desired more attention from her.

They agreed that she would become a stay-at-home wife to better focus on their home life.

In a recent episode of a YouTube series called “My Extraordinary Family“, Aly explained that she is not fond of the label “feminist.”

In her view, feminism is unnecessary, and she believes that men would have liberated women even without the feminist movement.

“The agreement was that if I sucked being a homemaker that I would go back to work,” the mother-to-be explained during the eight-minute YouTube video.

“I wouldn’t say I’m a feminist at all. I think that feminism is all bad.

“Men love women so much that they would have liberated us after they fully liberated themselves anyway,” she continued.

“I’m of the opinion that feminism is completely unnecessary and that it’s a female supremacy movement.”

The woman takes the role of a traditional wife filled with household tasks

Aly shared that she takes on most of the household tasks, including cooking, cleaning, and laundry.

For her work, she receives a weekly payment of $100. She claims that this amount is more than she earned while serving in the military.

Aly also mentioned that she is careful with budgeting to ensure she does not misuse her husband’s money.

Her perspective on their financial arrangement has generated a lot of discussion.

While some viewers feel that $100 per week is insufficient for the amount of work she does, others believe that the couple has found a system that works for them.

“I know some wives, they don’t have a conscience with that, but I’d prefer if I never had to look at a screen with dollars, ever.”

“There are feminists on Reddit who hate me,” she added. “Most of which are single over the age of 30.”

Reactions from the public

Since the video was posted, it has received significant attention, gathering over 13,500 views.

Many comments reflect a range of opinions on their lifestyle.

One viewer commented that Aly deserves more than $400 a month and should recognize her worth.

One commenter noted: This is such a diamond in the rough in 2024 in Western cultures.

The second user said: He’s not paying her enough. Also, why can’t he do his share?

Just because he doesn’t like cleaning and cooking doesn’t mean he should be absolved of doing it.

Seeing how their marriage works makes me glad my marriage is nothing like theirs.

The third user said: Not for me. If I’m in a relationship it has to be 50/50. Cooking and cleaning are basic life skills.

However, not everyone is supportive of their arrangement.

Critics have pointed out that Aly’s stance on feminism is problematic.

One viewer argued that rejecting feminism ignores the historical struggles for women’s rights, which were crucial for the freedoms many women have today.

One user commented: I would rather get paid to do it than do it for free but I would charge more since I’m not limited to certain hours. A live in nanny would cost more than that.

The second user wrote: If they are happy like this, good for them!!

The third user said: I don’t see anything wrong with this. If she’s a stay at home wife. She needs some spending money.
