Jared Leto, an actor, a singer, and the frontman of the Thirty Seconds to Mars program, stunned his fans and social media users after legally climbing the Empire State Building in New York City.
Leto gained the new title on November 9, when he was the leading person who dared to scale the iconic building in New York City.
According to experts, the journey would take a while to climb all 443 meters of the building, including its pinnacle and antenna.
His starting point was from 86 to 104, which took him about 20 minutes. It means he only climbed a portion of the structure; however, it's still more impressive than any other human has legally done before.
After finishing the venture, Leto admitted that he was more excited than nervous: "But I have to be honest, it was very, very hard. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be."
"Just the endurance that it took, the stamina that it took, and it was very sharp," he added.
When asked about the reason to conquer the Empire State Building, Leto shared that he wanted to cross this challenge off his bucket list and promote his band's world tour for 30 Seconds to Mars, which will go from March to September 2024.
"As a young kid, I wanted to be an artist, and New York was the place that you came to be an artist. And the Empire State Building was always that symbol for me," he said
After reaching the top, the 51-year-old spoke about his adventure and showed off the injuries on his bloodied hands inflicted by the building's sharp edges.
Jared Leto successfully scaled a building without the need for full climbing gear and ropes, despite carefully preparing everything before the adventure. He became the first person to legally scale the building, following the illegal act of Alain Robert in 1994.
