The footage showed Madi Flynn capturing several oblivious coworkers sitting and standing at the register, with the text on the video reading: 'POV: your managers have no idea today’s your last shift, and they will never see you again because you’re about to block everyone.'

At the end of the video, Flynn turns the camera on herself, delivering a defiant gesture.

The video quickly went viral, gaining 1.1 million views, receiving 2,000 comments, and sparking debate. 

In a follow-up video, Flynn provides the reasons for her abrupt departure, citing insufficient hours and an unwelcoming work environment as the primary factors.

Flynn reveals that her hours were consistently inadequate, averaging nine hours "on a really good week" despite requesting a minimum of 20 hours weekly upon hiring. Expressing her concerns, she questions whether the diminishing hours were an attempt to push her out.

“[My hours] just kept getting less and less, and I was like, ‘Are they trying to get rid of me?'” Flynn explained

Flynn explained: “Basically, from day one, I felt like they didn’t like me. I felt like I was always walking on eggshells, and I felt like the managers held a double standard of always getting away with breaking the rules."

She added: “I would do the smallest thing that was out of line, and I would be ridiculed super hard for it. I just didn’t feel like it was equal."

According to Flynn, the store has a 'very cold atmosphere,' and she states that she never felt welcome. She also shares the surprising revelation that seasonal hires were earning more than her. 

The low salary is also the reason she quit. She explained:" The pay is terrible. The benefits are terrible. And I found out the seasonal girls were making two dollars more than me for some odd reason".

In the video, Flynn faced criticism for quitting her job without notice. Some argued that she lacked responsibility for the job, while others expressed doubts about her suitability for future employment. However, numerous people supported Flynn for her actions.

One person said: Bath and Body Works, the store that just stopped scheduling me and then fired me when I applied for another job because they weren't scheduling me. 

A second wrote: I did that. I found the roaster and blocked every number, even their emergency contacts. Left my key after lock up and just didn't go back.

While a third commented: The trauma B&BW gave me. Carrying soap boxes down a ladder, working until 3 am while my manager yells at us on a megaphone and eats Wendy's.

Someone else said: I worked for them in the early 2000s. I left to work at a jewelry kiosk that was directly in front of the store.
