If you live in a coastal area, you might often come across mysterious sea creatures with strange appearances.

One beachgoer, while walking along the beach, was shocked to spot this horrid thing.

A beachgoer in the town of Fairhaven, Australia, made a peculiar discovery that has left local nature enthusiasts baffled."

The curious individual described it as looking like something out of Alien

The baffled beachgoer took to the  'Field Naturalists Club of Victoria's Facebook group, seeking answers to the mysterious sea creature that looked like an 'alien-like' appearance. 

The post had the caption, 'Hi all, second ID at Step Beach at Fairhaven. Found in the rock pools. It was kind of hard, plant-like.'

In the post, the mysterious sea was described as "kind of hard, plant-like.". Immediately, the creature has divided on social media. Numerous users left their comments seeking an answer, while others declared it was "from another planet!"

One person said: Note to self. Sea tulips look uncannily like a brain with spinal cord still attached.

A second wrote: I’m so glad it’s a plant!! 

A third commented: It's  Aquamans computer mouse! Please return it to Disney studios.  

Someone else said: Sea tulips, lots at Anglesea reef at the moment 

However, the community was quick to find out the true identity of this mysterious creature.

Numerous naturalists have said that the mysterious sea has actually turned out to be a sea tulip. The creature is known for its peculiar appearance, covered in lumps and bumps thanks to the encrusting sponge that adorns its surface.

The sea tulip had a strange appearance

The sea tulip was found as low as 262 feet deep in coastal waters. The mysterious sea creatures grow from rocks on long stalks and function as filter feeders.

The main food source of the marine topic comes from plankton, which pumps water in and out of their siphons.

Wherever the sea tulip was, the strangeness appeared, leaving numerous people horrified at first sight. 

Another beachgoer in Darwin was stunned after spotting a small 'alien-like' creature as they walked along the sea.

An unnamed man then posted pictures of the strange, mysterious sea creature on Reddit, seeking answers.

In the post, the mysterious sea creature was described as hiding in the sand during the day. A small blue sea creature with an "alien" appearance, it seemed to have short, iridescent tentacles around its body and a shiny, prism-like skin at its center.

The mysterious sea creature left numerous users baffled, with many commenting to find its true identity

The creature was later identified as a blue button jellyfish, a marine creature made up of colonies of hydrozoans.

While blue-button jellyfish stings are not fatal to humans and only cause dermatitis, these jellyfish pose a significant threat to dogs and can cause severe symptoms.
