A couple suddenly received a mysterious letter from Canada revealing secret rooms in their 130-year-old newly purchased house.

Courtney and Matt, a millennial couple, are uncovering hidden passageways, chambers, and secret rooms in their 130-year-old house as a result of a strange and unexpected letter from the "last surviving member" of the family that once owned the property.

“We got a letter addressed ‘purchaser,’” Courtney shared a TikTok tell-all revealing that the correspondence was from a Canadian individual.

“It says, ‘Let me introduce myself. I am the last surviving member of the Madison family who once owned the house, and I grew up in it,’” read the letter. “‘I would like to … tell you about the secret rooms and a few things you may not have been told when you bought the house.’”

Courtney and Matt's new home's location remains unclear, and they have not provided any information about the Madison family who previously owned the property.

However, in the video, which garnered over 1.5 million views, the newlyweds revealed their previously hidden information as they gave a tour of their sprawling Victorian-style mansion, which they reportedly recently bought from a historical society, as seen in another video.

Initially, in their front parlor, they discovered a hidden alcohol cabinet over the fireplace. Nestled behind a sliding mirrored panel was a treasure trove of dusty, old spirits.

Old bottles of bourbon, lager, and cream sherry were hidden among aged containers of cabernet sauvignon from 1989 and French rosé wine from 1970 that had not yet been opened.

Following the letter, Courtney and Matt discovered a hidden room "in the [bathroom], directly opposite the door in the wall."

But when the couple, together with their toddler daughter, searched for the hidden escape in their bathroom, which Courtney considered to be “by far the scariest room” in the house because of its vintage and run-down appearance, they discovered that the nook was actually a tiny crawl space rather than a room.

“My guess is there probably used to be some kind of room up here,” said Courtney, “but really, it’s just a creepy attic space.”

For a while, Courtney discovered a small, locked door opposite their toilet, leading to a spacious trunk room.

“There is this huge space,” she shouted. “We’re going to try and figure out how to use this space, but right now it’s just kind of a cool, cool room.”

There were many people who were extremely curious about the couple's house and left different comments below the video.

"Your home is lovely! It reminds me of a treasure hunt!" one social media user commented.

"I'm literally dreaming of this! Very envious!" another replied.

A spectator cheered, "It's great that [the previous owner] sent you a letter explaining everything about the house." "Very cool!".

Courtney and Matt also shared in separate blogs that the previous owners left antique furniture and souvenirs in the house, including a vintage music box that plays a hair-raising rendition of the wedding march when cranked.
