The footage showing the Baltimore Bridge collapsing after being struck by the Dali ship has garnered attention.
According to reports, the Dali ship collided with the Baltimore Bridge at 1:15 am, resulting in immediate damage to the bridge.
Shocking footage captured the Dali ship losing power multiple times before crashing into the bridge, leading to its dramatic collapse and leaving viewers shocked.
In the footage, at 1:23 am, with the cargo ship becoming obscured a minute later.
There's a brief flicker of recovery as some lights turn back on, but thick smoke quickly billows from the vessel.
Additionally, at approximately 1:26 am, the video depicts the ship losing power again. Just as the lights return, the vessel slams into the bridge, causing the entire structure to crumble.
The rescue teams scouring the Patapsco River, where submerged vehicles and missing workers are located.
The incident gained attention around the world. However, this is not the first the Dali ship caused the damage.
In 2016, this Dali ship had previously smashed into a dock in Antwerp, Belgium.
The trouble part of the Dali ship left viewers shocked.
The Singapore-flagged container ship "Dali," responsible for the devastating Baltimore bridge collapse, has a history of prior accidents. While en route from Baltimore to Colombo, Sri Lanka, the vessel collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
This incident marks not the first time the Dali has been involved in a crash. In 2016, while departing the port of Antwerp, Belgium, for Bremerhaven, Germany, the ship struck a dock. Reports from Vessel Finder indicate the Antwerp collision resulted from a "mistake by the Master and pilot on board."
The Dali sustained "sufficient damages" to its stern but remained afloat. The dock, however, sustained "serious damage."
Thankfully, there were no injuries or reported oil spills.
Footage of the incident shows the stern impacting the dock, generating a dust cloud as the ship damaged the stone structure.
The Dali ship built in 2015, the 948-foot-long and nearly 164-foot-wide Dali has a cargo capacity of approximately 111,000 tonnes.
Manufactured by South Korean firm Hyundai Heavy Industries, the vessel currently sails under a Singaporean flag.
Now, the incident where the Dali ship caused the collapse of the Baltimore bridge remains in the spotlight.
Following the incident, Chief Wallace stated that search efforts are underway for "upwards of seven" people, acknowledging the possibility of a fluctuating number of missing individuals due to the scale of the incident. He characterized the operation as a "search and rescue" mission
