The divers left goosebumps after witnessing what is hidden bottom of the Great Blue Hole.

The Great Blue Hole is a mesmerizing sight, with its deep blue waters surrounded by a rim of land rising above the surface.

It has fascinated explorers for years, including the renowned Jacques Cousteau and his grandson Fabien, who had previously ventured into its depths.

However, this recent expedition would reveal something far more disturbing.

As the divers descended further into the hole, they encountered a layer of hydrogen sulfide at around 300 feet below the surface.

Beyond that point, the water turned dark and lifeless, adding an eerie atmosphere to their journey. But it was when they finally reached the bottom that they made a shocking and unsettling discovery.

Among the debris scattered at the bottom of the Great Blue Hole, the team found a two-liter plastic bottle and an abandoned GoPro camera containing photos from someone's holiday.

However, these items were overshadowed by an even more chilling find - the remains of two divers who had gone missing in the depths of the hole.

The sight was undoubtedly unnerving, but the team decided to leave the bodies undisturbed, considering the hole to be their final resting place.

They did, however, inform the Belize government about the discovery.

Additionally,  As the crew explored the depths in a submersible vehicle, they stumbled upon a vast network of caves adorned with hanging stalactites.

This revelation puzzled scientists, as it was previously thought that stalactites could only form above water surfaces.

The discovery beneath the Great Blue Hole serves as a reminder of humanity's impact on nature

The presence of these formations hinted that the caves had once existed on dry land, hundreds of feet above the current ocean level.
