She finally amended her passport to reflect her true gender identification, nevertheless, and announced it in December 2023.
She filmed herself filling out the necessary paperwork and going to the passport office to submit it.

Mulvaney's journey towards embracing her true gender identity has not been easy.

This made it increasingly difficult to use her old passport as her appearance no longer matched the photo.

In addition to updating her passport, Mulvaney has also changed her name legally and updated her driver's license and other legal documents
"I would like to thank the US Government for allowing me to do this," she said as she pointed out the F next to gender on the new passport.
"And for all those people [who] called me a man, well, you can take that up with the Department of Social Security because my passport says otherwise," she added.

In one photo, she poses topless in a wooded area, proudly showing off her new passport with a big smile on her face.
