Watson candidly expressed her discomfort, stating that the kiss was the worst thing she had ever had to do.
She acknowledged that Grint was a lovely person and that many girls would eagerly kiss him, but for her, it felt like incest.
Closing her eyes during the kiss helped her temporarily forget that it was Grint, but once they had to open their eyes and look at each other, the weirdness intensified, making it difficult to continue filming.
The reunion between Watson and Grint still feels awkward when they recall that kiss scene.
Interestingly, during a more recent HBO reunion special called Return To Hogwarts, Watson and Grint reunited to reflect on their time working on the Harry Potter films.
Over the years, it was clear that Watson's feelings about the "incest" scene remained the same.
She still found the kiss to be horrifying for both her and Grint, and he simply agreed with her assessment.
Watson also disclosed that the scene was initially planned to be a passionate makeout scene, but they couldn't control their laughter during the takes.
She stressed that the kiss felt inappropriate in every way due to the strong friendship she had with Grint and their co-star Radcliffe, who portrayed Harry Potter.
During the conversation, Radcliffe acknowledged that he hadn't made the situation any easier.
He admitted to behaving poorly by intentionally watching the kissing scene during filming, which only increased the discomfort for Watson and Grint.
Radcliffe described himself as being a bit of a "d**k" for his actions and sincerely apologized for his behavior.
