Then she continued to share her knowledge about what happened with the device when it collected customer data during purchases at Walmart.

Shen explained that when customers scan items at the checkout, the store's self-checkout camera takes a photo and notes it

She added: “So, every time you scan something, it takes pictures of you and let me just tell you every time that you run your card through a Walmart scanner, they have a note of it.”

She warned that Walmart can find your credit card, and then she offered her advice: “I don’t recommend using credit cards if you’re trying to do anything janky, my dude.”

Ash also alleges that “they also take a picture of your face and the card that they’re using. And they hold it and stored it as a file.”

Additionally, the ex-Walmart employee alleged that Walmart has been collecting purchasing data on customers for a long time, and it is now reaching new levels.

She gave a tip to help customers keep their information confidential by paying cash and covering their ID. She added, 'Those cameras can read into your wallet, and they do.'

Her video has sparked a debate with numerous comments co-signing her views, as well as sharing their thoughts about the story.

One person said: I always use cash. and that's scary if my husband ever gets credit card fraud, I'll be sending them to Walmart immediately unfortunately he uses cards.

A second wrote: I knew about this because my mom has been losing her receipts for years and just asks them to pull up her card info for returns.

While a third commented: Folks didn't know this already? I figured when returning things w/o a receipt they could use the card you purchased the items with w/to verify and refund.

I realized this when I got the Walmart app and made an account and it already had every purchase I made at the store on there. Another said.
