A video has resurfaced showing a staff member at KFC preparing their iconic gravy, causing a significant division on the internet due to its somewhat unappetizing appearance.

In 2021, Channel 4 provided a behind-the-scenes look at the operations of a KFC branch in Chorley and Buckshaw, especially focusing on their preparations for a busy Christmas season, with gravy being a top priority for their customers.

A KFC staff member named Anne graciously allowed the cameras to observe her process of producing 200 liters of gravy daily.

The procedure commences with Anne stirring various off-cut chicken pieces and meat juices, pressing these remnants through a sieve to create the gravy's base. This stage involves the sludgy ingredients adhering to the sieve, resulting in an appearance more akin to swamp water than a delectable sauce.

After a thorough whisking of this mixture, she transfers it into a large transparent container filled with hot water and meat residue. She then places the container in a massive microwave to heat and thicken the mixture.

The video has generated numerous reactions from viewers, with hundreds of people have shared their thoughts on the clip.

One person said: As a kid, I loved eating KFC. Then, as a teenager, I worked there during the summer. I never ate there again.

In 2020, another KFC employee made unsettling claims about the gravy preparation process that left many people reconsidering their choice of fast food.

According to this employee, KFC creates its gravy using leftover chicken bits that come off the fryer, which are somewhat off-putting for some individuals.

The process involves collecting offcuts and meat juices from the fryer once they have settled at the bottom. These collected juices are then stored in the fridge and mixed with hot water after a thorough stirring.

To enhance the flavor and thicken the mixture, a special seasoning is added. The resulting mixture is heated for nine minutes and then strained through a sieve before being poured into small red containers.

Another said: That gravy is amazing. There was a girl who ordered it every day at the office. She would call it grave.
