Fans of fast food were stunned after a former McDonald's chef revealed why they don’t have knives in their kitchens.

Mike Haracz left numerous people shocked after explaining whey they never see KNIVES in the chain's kitchens.

Mike Haracz, confidently identified a former McDonald's corporate chef who served until 2019, recently disclosed a peculiar detail about the fast-food giant's kitchens.

 In a TikTok video, he repsoned a follower's question, the Illinois-based chef shared that one essential cooking tool is conspicuously absent from McDonald's kitchen – a knife.

According to Mike, the absence of knives is attributed to the fact that all the food items used in McDonald's kitchens arrive pre-cut. 

From cheese to tomatoes, everything is delivered to the restaurant already sliced before they get into the hands of the employees.

Addressing the follower's question about whether employees have access to knives, Mike explained: 'They do not have a knife because there is nothing in the McDonald's restaurants that crew needs to chop or cut for any reason.'

Mike said that the only knife-like items that workers had were.

He added: 'There are approved McDonald's tools that are like a little razor blade that will open pouches and things of that nature, pouches of sauce or whatever.' 

He also explained that McDonald's has some approved tools, such as little blades, to open the bag, especially if it contains a sauce bag or something.

Onion slices are removed from the food, he explained. The onions are then dehydrated and crushed so that a knife is not needed for any further preparation. This ensures that every menu item is maintained to the same high standard across all McDonald's locations

He cotinued: 'I think there's lemon wedges... for tea... but that has a lemon wedger or a citrus wedger contraption. 

The video quickly went viral with many people sharing their comments and sharing their thoughts.

Other former McDonald's employees also commented in comments that knives were allegedly not allowed because of the risk of "changing portion sizes" and "risk of cutting fingers."

One person said: I worked at McDonald’s a long time ago. We had spatulas that would work as a knife if needed.

A second wrote: Maybe a utility knife? Box opener for opening the pre-sliced ingredients in boxes?

While a third commented: We had knives when I worked at McDonalds a couple of years back. occasionally we would run out of lettuce or tomato or something. 

I remember there being some kind of metal thing for cutting chicken. That would probably cut the burger. Another added. 

This isn't the first time Mike has posted about the chain's food—McDonald's.

Previously, people were stunned after Mike explained that you should NEVER visit the fast-food chain at 10.30 am. He claimed that 10.30 a.m is the worst time of day when you should never visit McDonald's

In the video shared on Titktok, he explained that during the morning, there was a 'huddle' in the kitchen due to numerous issues with ingredients, staff, and customer demand.

He continued: 'Now, there's a bunch of people who want their breakfast later than 10.30 am and there's a bunch of people who want their lunch earlier than 10.30 am.' 

'The issue is all of the equipment is all the same and a lot of times things are switched over from the breakfast menu to the lunch menu.'

He explained that 10:30 a.m. was the time when the fryer was no longer frying the fries. The ovens also operate at different times and temperatures.

Mike explained that at this time, the restaurant becomes increasingly busy, with a lot of activity going on. While the opening is also busy, there are not only changes happening but also more people arriving or leaving.

He said:  "The entire menu while trying to use up all the breakfast items and add all the lunch items - that's going to cause problems for the restaurant."

At the end of the video, he emphasized that 10:30 a.m. is the worst time to visit McDonald's for their chain food.

"The restaurant switches from breakfast to lunch," he concluded.
